The dual filament bulbs will light up when the break is pressed, but the other filament will not light up when just the head lights are on.

Chevy truck tail lights not working. When right turn signal no lights come on. The tail lights are the same bulb but they use a different filament in the bulb.you may need to replace the bulbs.another possibility is there maybe a problem with the wiring for the tail lights between the socket and the area where the trailer wiring is connected to the truck wiring.try the bulbs first,you just have to try one first to see it it works or not then you will know what to do next. What to check if the tail lights on my 66 c10 are not working? My friend has a 2000 silverado and is having a weird issue with his tail light. Having trouble with my tail lights on a 2004 chevy silverado.

It looks like a connector for trailer wiring harness, but in actuallity is a metal shorting clip which ties 5 wires together. I just noticed this warning ticket on my desk. Replaced brake light and a few weeks later it stops working.

I have an 1994 chevy truck gmc 1500 my tail lights don't work. The signal and reverse lights work and so does the brake light but the running light does not come on on the driver side. This has been going on for the past year. I have a 1993 1/2 ton 4x4 with no rear tail ligts.

If i remove the tail light assembly and tap the bulb that's not working, it works fine for a day or two and then stops working again. Which fuse runs the tail lights? You need to break out a meter and check the power on the circuits as well as the grounds like already suggeste.

Reverse and brake lights are ok. Everything on the front end works and has new bulbs all around. Did some checking the other night.

A blue wire connects the brake lights switch to the rear lamps junction block. I also checked the fuse,again good with power on both sides of fuse. I swapped the after market receiver out with a new one and it is still acting the same way.

Although i have taken the lens off and checked the bulbs, they are good. My tail lights are not working so are my interior lights and my dash board lights.please help me!! Nothing works on the rear end for lights when my light switch in on or in the running lights position.

Any thing you think of. Tail lights, backup lights, left turn signal, right turn signal. The truck has the factory plug to attach to an after market female receiver for the trailer wiring.

170k miles both turn signals are blinking fast when the headlights are turned on. Could it be one of the rea. I have the manual on the truck but the diagram does not help me.any one have a photo or discription of the wire set.

There was no power at the connector where this t was installed. There are only 4 wires that control rear lights. The trailer running lights stopped working when hooked up my 2011 silverado, however, the brake lights and turn signals are working fine.

I checked the fuses and there okay,bulbs all work cause the tail lights come on, the front blinkers blink faster and the rear ones dont work either. Signal ,brake and reverse work though. January 14, 2011, 10:55:47 pm » i'm with irish on this one, fuses are blown from power wires touching a ground where they are not suppose to, if it was a actual ground wire not hooked up or broken, then none of the lights in that circuit would work.

If your third brake light works either way but the rear brake lights stop working when the truck is on its a faulty ground wire to the stop lamp relay. 219 people found this helpful. Replacing with a new bulb works ok for a few weeks again.

The tail lights no longer come on except when i brake, what could be causing this? Tail lights do not turn on, brake lights do not turn on, when i turn the left signal in cab one light on the left side blinks and the right side has two lights blink. They are all the ground wires for the tail lights.

The dash is different for the lower versions of the interior options. I've replaced the bulbs and the new bulbs had the same result. My tail lights and reverse lights do not work at all.

The 2007 chevy truck dash will bolt into a 1998 chevy truck if both vehicles are the silverado version of the truck. Remove the screws from the bulb lens (which you can access through the trunk or see your vehicle repair manual to get the exact location). I would like to remove the drawtite kit and just wire it back to stock.

Everything else back there works fine. Pulled out lights and checked to see if power was getting to lights, and getting power in all slots on both sides of connection. When you use the brake power is constantly suppplied to both turnsignals creating brake.

If electrical current is reaching the switch but the lights are not working, even if the switch is in good condition, follow the current flow with your test light to the stop lamps and look for a possible open or short in the circuit. On these trucks the brake lights are the same as the turn signals. I hope i just blew a fuse but not sure what fuse to check.

Since both are out i would say that it is probably power related. 93 chevy truck k1500 5.7 with approx. It has a drawtite brake set up and the wires are a mess.

Ever since i did this the driver side rear tail lamps don't work. Other things use that ground when the key is on so its not strong enough then to activate the armature within the relay. So i checked for power and the socket.

The tail lights do not light up when the head lights are on. First thing we tried was a new bulb and that didnt work. My brake and turn signals work when my light switch is in the off position.

The tail lights quit working i think after i pulled my boat last.
